Formulation Fact 01

We don’t formulate with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) salts such as Disodium EDTA, Trisodium EDTA or Tetrasodium EDTA. Manufacturing EDTA and its salts involves reacting ethylenediamine, a harmful substance associated with reproductive toxicity. Unfortunately, EDTA and its salts may contain trace amounts of this substance. EDTA and its salts are also persistent and can harm the environment.

Formulation Fact 02

Formulated without ethanolamines such as Triethanolamine (TEA). TEA has been called out in cosmetics for its ability to form nitrosamines in the presence of certain ingredients like formaldehyde-releasing preservatives DMDM Hydantoin and Diazolidinyl urea. Nitrosamines are carcinogenic and also linked to endocrine disruption. We can avoid ethanolamines and so we do.

Formulation Fact 03

This product is formulated without pigments chromium hydroxide green or chromium oxide green. Studies have found that these pigments can contain the carcinogenic, hexavalent form of chromium dependent on manufacturing practices.

Formulation Fact 04

We chose not to formulate our brow gel with hair growth actives, prostaglandin and prostaglandin analogues like Ethyl Tafluprostamide, Isopropyl cloprostenate and Cloprostenol Ethyl Amide, which are endocrine-active and can be linked to hyperpigmentation and periorbital fat atrophy.

      My 70 Year Old Mom's New Must Have Item!

      My mom has never applied any color to her brows because she found it difficult and found products looked too dark on her, which made it feel unnatural. She was thrilled after trying Counter Brilliant Brow Tinted Gel though, because she thought it brought her eyes out and nicely framed them. She found the look to be subtle, and the application easy. She also loves how long it stays on.
