FORMULATION FACT 03

We use Cystoseira tamariscifolia extract for its antioxidant, skin conditioning, and age-defensive benefits instead of Macrocystis pyrifera (Kelp) extract or Undaria pinnatifida extract, which can sometimes contain higher levels of iodine. Some algae, particularly brown seaweeds, naturally accumulate iodine from seawater as part of their growth process. While iodine is an essential trace element for healthy thyroid function, excessive exposure—especially in sensitive individuals—can disrupt thyroid hormone balance. Indeed, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) Verified program enforces strict limits on iodine levels in products containing brown algae. We carefully review and monitor the iodine content of all algae-derived extracts used in our formulations.

All seaweeds are algae, but not all algae are seaweeds. While seaweeds are valued in serums for their hydrating and antioxidant benefits, some species can pose risks due to the presence of hormone-like compounds, pro-oxidant activity, or heavy metal accumulation. We carefully review all seaweed ingredients for potential contaminants and look to avoid species with concerning evidence of endocrine activity and oxidative stress.

      Super hydrating!

      This is one of the best products I have ever tried for hydration. It has a lightweight feel and leaves my skin feeling so nourished. I use it morning and night and follow with either tetrapeptide supreme cream or hyaluronic cushion cream.

      Moisturizing
