Formulation Fact 01

We use Kappaphycus alvarezii extract, derived from algae, instead of Laminaria saccharina extract or Ascophyllum nodosum extract, which often contains higher levels of iodine. Some algae naturally accumulate iodine from seawater as part of their growth process. Excessive exposure to iodine can potentially disrupt thyroid hormone balance. For this reason, we carefully review the iodine content of all algae-derived extracts used in our formulations, ensuring that levels remain within our limits and aligned with EWG Verified standards.

We use Coco-Caprylate/Caprate for its skin conditioning benefits and silky, gliding, non-greasy texture instead of the cyclic siloxanes Cyclotetrasiloxane (D4), Cyclopentasiloxane (D5), and Cyclohexasiloxane (D6) that present concerns around carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, and environmental harm – highly persistent, bioaccumulative and/or toxic to the aquatic environment.

Formulation Fact 03

We don’t formulate with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) salts such as Disodium EDTA, Trisodium EDTA or Tetrasodium EDTA. Manufacturing EDTA and its salts involves reacting ethylenediamine, a harmful substance associated with reproductive toxicity. Unfortunately, EDTA and its salts may contain trace amounts of this substance. EDTA and its salts are also persistent and can harm the environment.

Formulation Fact 04

Formulated without heavily ethoxylated ingredients Polysorbate 40, Polysorbate 60, PEG-10 Dimethicone, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, and PPG-26-Buteth-26 that carry particular risk for carcinogenic contaminants, ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane. We take ingredient purity seriously.

      Must-have for humid summer days!

      I use this product intentionally when I either A) have a big event or B) need a full face of makeup on a humid summer day. While it definitely could be an everyday thing, I use it sparingly and love it when I do. Trying to utilize it on a budget ;) Makes my skin feel softer by the end of the day. Prevents my makeup from sweating off in the heat and humidity. Gives an extra boost of glow! Highly recommend.

      Glowing complexion

      I am so glad this is back. I had an old bottle from the previous line and was using it so sparingly because I really loved it. I was hoping they would bring it back. I was thrilled when I saw it in the lineup. It’s a must have for your skin care routine.
